If everyone in the oil industry was making plenty of profit when the price of crude was $28 per barrel, which it was just three short years ago, how much profit are they making when it hits $70 per barrel? Quick, this is a test, and you don't want to be left behind!
No, it doesn't cost anymore to pump it out, move it, or refine it.
By the way, China will own America at our current rate of borrowing from them, by the time your children come of age. That's okay, though, because the Chinese are too smart to foreclose on the loans. They'll just live off the interest your children will be forced to pay. Keep the peddle to the metal folks. The faster you go, the worse your fuel efficiency, and the faster you go backrupt.
