The Washington Post reports that Thomas made the reference while being interviewed at a recently (thinly disguised fund raising) event known as the Federalists Society's annual gala. The federal code of conduct for judges prohibits such activity by judges, but that hasn't stopped conservative judges from attending as the main attraction anyway. The largest contributor, after all, employs two conservative judges' children: Eugene Scalia and Philip Alito.
Let's face facts, though, Mr. Justice: Gump was a compassionate character, without a spiteful bone in his body.
